The NYC Jewelry Week calendar drops soon and I’m pumped

I have to admit: when I started Designs by Bubblegum, I had no clue what I was even doing. I was sort of just depressed and bored with my “career”, and the winter days were getting darker and longer. I was also kind of feeling a new paradigm shift in my life regressing back to my more creative state I had back in high school and my early 20s; I see the jewelry making is therapeutic, and also just a fun way to express myself, I never really thought it would turn into anything.

Oh, and it doesn’t hurt when someone notices your one-of-a-kind necklace and offers a compliment inquiring about a specific piece. And that’s the thing I love about fashion: is that you don’t have to be rich to have style, you don’t need too many resources for a good outfit, and often times a jewelry accentuating the dress or whatever it is, makes the entire ensemble whole. How many times have you started a conversation with someone based on their outfit?

So hearing about NYC Jewelry Week I was first and foremost just excited to be able to connect with local enthusiasts, but also hear about other people’s journeys into their brands and designs. The kickoff starts on November 17-23 this year featuring a mix of in-person and online events, and the official schedule drops on October 6th.

Unfortunately registration for designers and event hosts is closed for this year, but I am already thinking ahead for 2026 as I try to build and establish myself and figure things out along the way. Until then, designers and spectators can look forward to the first week of October to hear more about what’s to come!

You can go back to videos from previous years to see more like the Sacred Geometry segment with the work of Robert Lee Morris.
